About Isabelle Miaja, Maison Miaja Founder.
Growing up in Paris with national poet of Spain Frederico Garcia-Lorca as a granduncle and one of Paris’ most revered jewellery designers as a father, it is not surprising that Isabelle turned towards a more creative occupation after graduating in Paris as a language major.
Moving to California in the mid-80’s, Isabelle studied interior design and upon completing her training in 1987, she remained in Los Angeles and formed interior design consultancy Robisa Design International with business partner Robert Arambulo.
Isabelle relocated to Singapore 25 years ago and established the interior design consultancy, Isabelle Miaja & Associates (IMA Interiors Pte. Ltd.), specialising in boutique hotels and high-end residential development projects. In 2009, IMA Interiors grew to become what is now known as MIAJA Design Group with its headquarters based in Singapore and continues to expand, with branch offices in London and Manila.
Established in Singapore, Miaja Gallery (2015) & Miaja Art Collections (2018) is devoted to encouraging visual dialogues to inspire and enrich our daily lives. It focuses on promoting emerging artists through exhibitions and public programmes; as well as bringing inspiring and cross-cultural art to local art community and general public.
Since its relocation in 2018, Maison Miaja is now housed in the APS Lifestyle Building, near Robertson Quay area. Set across two levels with different design concepts in each area, there is the ‘white box, minimalist chic’ setting of Salon Jean Nouvel on the 2nd floor and the ‘European luxury’ style of the recently opened Salon Louis XVI on the 4th floor,
both available for exclusive events.
